Counseling
People First
The Arc believes that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have strengths, abilities, and inherent value; are equal before the law; and must be treated with dignitiy and respect.  The Arc believes in self-determination by empowering people with the supports needed to make informed decisions and choices.*

In accordance with this core value, we believe that people with I/DD should be afforded the same opportunities as others to take active steps toward improving their quality of life.

We provide Counseling for people with I/DD who wish to develop skills and strategies to cope with the challenges of daily living.

Counseling
Each individual brings unique strenghts and needs to counseling.  This makes each counseling experience unique.  Typically the counseling process involves exploring and clarifying the problem, examining solutions that have been tried, determining goals and strategies, and building abilities to work toward these goals.

Counseling can address many areas including, but not limited to:

      =Interpersonal Relationships
      =Emotional Regulation
      =Conflict Management
      =Mental/Emotional Health
      =Maladaptive Behaviors
